Celebrate Earth Day Every Day

BE Active for a Big Impact

At Berkley Environmental, we are proud to support Earth Day and continue to invest in our planet. With our “BE Active” initiative, we promote environmental awareness and become an active participant in making positive changes in our communities that can have a lasting impact for everyone—not just on Earth Day, but every day.

Earth Day serves as a great opportunity to take action for something bigger than just Berkley. We have been taking action year round with our teams across the country, from hosting a pickleball tournament that raised $1,000 for local Trinity River Audubon Center to participating in independent park clean-ups and tree plantings with local nonprofits.

In honor of this special day, we encourage you to consider taking part in one (or more) of the following eco-conscious activities:

  • Make a pledge to reduce your carbon footprint: Try taking public transportation, biking, or walking when you have the option. Switch to strictly energy-efficient appliances in your home—your wallet might even thank you!
  • Escape the laundry loop: Don’t get stuck in a cycle of over-usage, try holding yourself accountable to a once-a-week routine and resist washing loads that are half full. Experiment using cold water only and avoid using the dryer as often as you can.
  • Reduce your waste consumption: Consider investing in an eco-friendly, reusable water bottle as opposed to purchasing plastic bottles while you’re on the go. Sadly, a whopping majority of plastic water bottles never end up making it to a recycling station.
  • Support an environmental organization: Donate or volunteer your time to a local environmental group. Search for a nonprofit near you and find one that aligns with your values here.

Whether you head to a local park clean-up or spontaneously choose to bike to work instead of drive, just remember that no action is too small. When we work together, we can make a positive impact and help ensure a healthier planet for generations to come.
