On Monday, April 17th, Joaquin Neira, Berkley Environmental VP of Latin America, ran the Boston Marathon. This year marked the 10-year-anniversary of the bombing that occurred at the 2013 marathon. And for Joaquin, it was a true test of his own physical and mental strength.
“It took various kinds of races to learn how to embrace the suffering involved when you push your limits,” Neira explained. “I wasn’t running for a charity on this occasion but to support One Boston Day on its decade anniversary.”
BE Active for a Big Impact
At Berkley Environmental, we are proud to support Earth Day and continue to invest in our planet. With our “BE Active” initiative, we promote environmental awareness and become an active participant in making positive changes in our communities that can have a lasting impact for everyone—not just on Earth Day, but every day.
Our Texas office celebrated our broker partnerships with a Pickleball Tournament at Chicken N Pickle in Grapevine, Texas. Our double-elimination tournament not only got everyone together for a bit of competitive fun, but also raised $1,000 for the nearby Trinity River Audubon Center.

Berkley Environmental’s BE ACTIVE initiative is our promise to always act with purpose. It inspires us to be an active participant in making positive differences in our communities that we hope has a lasting impact for everyone.
Our Atlanta office took to the outdoors on April 27th to celebrate Earth Day in their community. With an environmentally focused objective and a good amount of teamwork, employees helped clean and beautify a section of the Dunwoody Nature Center.
"Dunwoody Nature Center’s mission is to conserve nature while educating and motivating environmental awareness and action, which made for a perfect fit for the Atlanta office Earth Day activity,” said Sales Executive Whitney Pomeroy.
We joined forces with the Chicago Parks Foundation this summer to support their citywide volunteer efforts to clean up Chicago’s 600+ parks!
Our team kicked off an independent clean-up event at Humboldt Park on July 13th as part of the foundation’s Pitch in for the Parks program, which runs from June to October.
We were humbled by the opportunity to give a little something back to the community we’re so grateful to be a part of.
